Mukul Dev Passes Away at 54: Veteran actor Mukul Dev, known for his versatile work across Hindi, Punjabi, South Indian films, and television, has sadly passed away at the age of 54. The actor had reportedly been unwell for the past few days and was undergoing treatment in the ICU. His demise was confirmed by fellow actor and close friend Vindu Dara Singh.

Vindu Dara Singh took to Twitter to share the heartbreaking news, writing:

“Rest in peace, my brother #MukulDev! The time spent with you will always be cherished. #SonOfSardaar2 will mark your final appearance — and you’ll bring joy and laughter to audiences one last time.”

Mukul Dev is survived by his brother, actor Rahul Dev.

“He Isolated Himself After His Parents’ Death,” Says Vindu

In a conversation with the media, Vindu Dara Singh shared that Mukul had become withdrawn following the passing of his parents.

“He stopped going out and avoided meeting people. In recent days, his health deteriorated, and he had to be hospitalized. My heartfelt condolences to Rahul and everyone who knew and loved Mukul. He was a wonderful soul. We will all miss him deeply,” Vindu said emotionally.

Actress Deepshikha Nagpal Remembers Mukul Dev

Actress and close friend Deepshikha Nagpal also expressed her sorrow. She shared a photo with Mukul on Instagram and revealed that he never spoke about his health issues.

“We had a WhatsApp group where we regularly chatted. I woke up to this terrible news today. Since then, I’ve been calling his number, hoping he’ll answer... It’s heartbreaking,” she said.

A Glance at Mukul Dev’s Illustrious Career

Mukul Dev made his acting debut in 1996 with the TV series Mumkin, and the same year, he entered Bollywood with Dastak, co-starring Sushmita Sen.. Over the years, he left his mark in films like Yamla Pagla Deewana, Son of Sardaar, R... Rajkumar, and Jai Ho.

A true pan-Indian actor, he worked across Hindi, Punjabi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Bengali, and Malayalam cinema. An alumnus of Delhi’s St. Columba’s School, Mukul also held a certificate in aeronautics from the Indira Gandhi Institute of Aviation in Raebareli.

His Own Reflections on His Journey

In a 2021 interview, Mukul had reflected on his 22-year-long career:

“I really have no complaints. I had a fantastic start with Dastak, followed by films, television, and regional cinema. It has all been deeply fulfilling. Looking at the competition today, I feel I’ve done quite well. No regrets at all about how things unfolded.”
